Tom Harmon and April Harmon
My name is Tom Harmon, and I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from GMI (now called Kettering University). I was born and raised in SE Michigan, but I’ve also spent time in middle Tennessee, Arkansas, and Ohio. I’ve been employed in the engineering field for over 20 years, on projects from automotive components to household appliances, and lot of things in between, and I hold a number of patents as well. I have a strong interest in public radio (usually NPR), and all things news, in addition to woodworking, gardening, and family.
My wife is April Harmon, and she has attended FLCC, MCC, and UT Martin covering education, phlebotomy, and pharmacy technology. She was born and raised in Upstate New York, in the finger lakes region. In the past, she’s worked as a substitute teacher for Pre-K thru G12, teaching vocational training, job coaching for special education participants, and medical billing. Her interests include family, reading, her health, classic television, and COFFEE.
Together, we have five children ranging from 12 to 27, two cats, and a new chocolate lab puppy. Especially since our youngest daughter has vision difficulties, we are highly interested in educational opportunities for anyone which may have a similar need, since we’ve also found that the current options for people with vision impairment is limited. We feel that CBR will help assist her with her educational needs, and hopefully help others that may have the same goals.
