Today we were at the Columbus/Lowndes County Library in Columbus, Mississippi for their Artisan Day. We had a table and we talked to people about Classic Book Radio. We also were able to convince Nikki, an aspiring radio announcer, to sit down and record our Station Identification. I will add that to the pool of station id’s that will go out over the air.
Our t-shirts have arrived and are available for purchase from the website!
We were listening to the local NPR station yesterday while driving. They were doing their spring “drive time”, known in our house as the “beg-a-thon”. It was $50 to get their shirt, ours is only $40. (And ours is so much better in every way!)
We also have been working on the 501(c)3 application and always downloading content for the broadcast library.
Things have been a bit quieter since our frenetic finale to the crowdfunding project but we are still moving along.
We have located 4 other people to bring on as board members of Classic Book Radio Corporation. Three have consented and we will present our case to the 4th in about a week.
This is very good news! It means we can move ahead with our 501(c)3 application for determination with the IRS. And that will then open up various potential funding sources. Also it will give us some very smart people to help ensure that things are done right. A third benefit is: it is nice to get some affirmation that our project is not just the output of our own imagination.
We have also moved forward with fulfillment of the “perks” that people selected during our funding drive. To that end, we should be picking up our t-shirt order this week! It’s nice to have something tangible. We ordered 50 and we needed about ten (I have a list). So that leaves us with ~ 40 shirts to sell, use as incentives, or whatever other purpose we can put them to. If I get it worked out, you may see our website sprout a “buy a T-shirt” link.
