{"id":38,"date":"2014-01-31T01:48:41","date_gmt":"2014-01-31T01:48:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wmfhlp.org\/?p=38"},"modified":"2014-01-31T01:59:31","modified_gmt":"2014-01-31T01:59:31","slug":"website","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.wmfhlp.org\/?p=38","title":{"rendered":"We have a website!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Check that box!<\/p>\n<p>The WMFH-LP.org website is where we will put our broadcast schedule and the link to our live stream.<\/p>\n<p>Also, it is the place we will receive feedback from our listeners.<\/p>\n<p>But the first job for the website is to act as a repository for information about our station and the progress we make toward getting it built and on the air.<\/p>\n<p>One of the big hurdles is funding.\u00a0 We are roughing out a budget for our start-up costs.\u00a0 So far we are in the $10k range and still creeping up as we find the bits and pieces we need.<\/p>\n<p>Just today I was investigating something called RDS.\u00a0 If you have an FM radio in your car, you probably have the feature where it shows the name of the station and maybe even the title and artist of the song that is playing.\u00a0 That is called RDS.\u00a0 We like RDS.\u00a0 We consider it a must.\u00a0 When people tune in to the middle of a chapter from War and Peace, we would like them to see &#8220;War &amp; Peace\u00a0 chapter 12\u00a0 Tolstoy&#8221; on their radio display.\u00a0 That would be very cool, and very useful.\u00a0 An RDS box adds that information to our transmission\u00a0 costs about $2k.<\/p>\n<p>It seems like every piece of a radio station costs another $2k.\u00a0 Why is that?\u00a0 It must be a magic number in the radio world.<\/p>\n<p>But never mind that now.\u00a0 We have a website!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Check that box!
